Backlighting

“Caution” This picture was taken when we were out looking for good backlighting photos, and I saw the caution tape. I looked at it from a few angles, but it wasn’t a good picture if I had taken it from straight on. I had to take the picture from a different angle so I thought of all my compositional elements and took it in a few different ways

When I took this picture I was on Horizon Christian School campus just walking around. When I saw it the first thing that caught my mind was how it was layered so thickly like a big yellow onion. When my viewers see this image I want them to think of how it shows the yellow of the caution tape without really showing anything on purpose.
There are a few compositional elements; they are Worm’s Eye View, Repetition, and Back Lighting. It is Repetition because the caution tape is layering itself almost thirteen- times. It is worm’s eye view because the caution tape is looking down at you.

Action Photos

"Getting Air"
This photo was taken when we did our photo day in photography class. At first  I was jumping ,but I didn't know how to do a crossover with the jump rope so Monica came over and I took this photo of  her. She did  a great job and did a perfect crossover.
When I took this it was 12:16 and we were about to move on to a different thing when Monica started jumping. So I hit the dirt at a sweet angle and took this photo. I really caught her feelings when I took this photo. If you were to zoom in you can see her determination.
There are a few compositional elements in this photo. They are Worm's Eye View, Rule of Thirds, and if you squint it's Leading Line. It is leading line because the jump rope is leading  to her.

"JUMP". This picture is of some of my friends joking around shooting hoops having fun. I told them to try and block each other. They both did great and I took the photo only a few seconds after she released the ball. It came out perfect.
I chose this picture because in class we were talking about how we need to take action photos ,and this is just a great in the moment picture. When I took the picture I was thinking of the NBA. How the two girls were like Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash.
The composition of this photo is action photograph, worm's eye view, and rule of thirds. It is worm's eye view because if I were to be looking at the photo from a worm's view it would be like me looking at a sky scraper. It's also rule of thirds because if I were to draw three by three lines down the picture both Monica and Kat be in those lines.
